Centacare is a charitable organisation and while funding  towards

provision of services is received, the funding does not cover our costs and we rely on client fees and contributions to support our work.

Our fees are always negotiable for people with financial constraints and it is important to note that no-one is declined our service because of financial constraints.

Donations are tax deductible.

Friends of Centacare’ to assist fundraising

Friends of Centacare’ is a community fundraising program established to assist the further expansion of Centacare New England North West.

The new program has a major focus of purchasing small capital items for the Centacare offices in Tamworth, Armidale and Moree.

The program has already assisted a Tamworth refurbishment which was completed in October 2005, now providing eight separate offices and a new meeting room which can be used for training, parenting programs and family mediations.

The Armidale refurbishment was completed in early November and a new Moree office opened in February 2006.

Centacare has operated as a not-for-profit welfare organisation across the Catholic Diocese of Armidale since 2001 and has slowly expanded the number of programs on offer.

The ‘Friends of Centacare’ program is seeks the support of local businesses, individuals and service organisations to enable Centacare to take the next expansionary step toward providing increased services to cover the Diocese of Armidale.

As one of the major welfare agencies in the region there is great demand for Centacare services which are partly funded by state and federal government, the Catholic Church and the community.

The broad aim of these programs is to resource adults, children, couples and families by developing their skills and assisting with strategies to prevent and deal with issues and conflicts.

As you may imagine, there is a greater need for these services than funding programs will cover, particularly in the supply of capital expenditure for such things as:

·        Computers and printers

·        Filing cabinets, desks and other office furniture

·        Resource kits and response booklets for psychological assessment

·        Current books on psychology and counselling

Friends of Centacare particularly seeks your practical support this year in being able to purchase some of these capital items which will, of course, be suitably marked as having been donated by your business.

We are suggesting an initial donation around $1,000 will allow us to purchase individual items noted above.

If you are able to assist in this way we will keep you informed of where the money is spent. If you would like more information on Centacare’s programs or where you may be able to directly assist, Centacare NENW, telephone 02 6762 1783, during office hours.
